Slow-Cooked Classic Beef Chili

Ingredients

    - 1 kg (2 lbs) extra lean ground beef
    - 2 cloves minced garlic
    - 2 tbsp chili powder
    - 1 tsp ground cumin
    - 1 14.5-oz canned diced tomatoes, undrained
    - 2 16-oz cans PC Blue Menu Dark Red Kidney Beans (no salt added), undrained
    - 1 4-oz can diced green chilies, undrained
    - 1 medium green pepper, chopped
    - 2 medium onions, raw, chopped
    shredded low-fat cheddar cheese, optional

Directions

1. Brown beef and garlic in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Stir to break up meat. Add chili powder and cumin. Stir to combine.

2. Mix tomatoes, beans, chopped onion, chilies, and chopped green pepper in slow cooker. Add beef mixture and mix thoroughly.

3. Cook on high 4-5 hours or on low for 8 to 10 hours.

4. Top each serving with shredded low-fat cheese, if using.
