Introduction

Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    0.5 pint vegetable stock
    1 large red onion, chopped
    2 garlic, chopped
    1 tbsp corn oil
    1 heaped tbsp plain flour
    0.5 tsp dried sage
    1 tsp mustard
    1 dessertspoon worcestershire sauce
    salt & pepper to taste

Directions

Heat the oil in a saute pan and fry the onion until it is lightly golden brown.

Add the garlic and fry for a few minutes more.

Turn the heat to low and add the stock.

Add the flour and continually mix to avoid lumps. Stir until thickened.

Leave to simmer for about 10 minutes

Add the sage, mustard, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to taste.

Serve as is, or blend into a smooth sauce.

Serves about 2 over mash and sausages.
