Roasted granny smith scones with semi sweet chocolate

Introduction

Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    190g plain flour
    50g granulated white sugar
    0.5 teaspoon salt
    1.5 teaspoon baking powder
    4 diced granny smith apples
    85g cubed cold unsalted butter
    1 beaten egg
    60ml heavy cream
    85g semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Set the oven at 190 degrees celcius.
Roast apples for about 20 mins till they slightly brown.
Remove from the oven and cool them in the fridge/freezer till lukewarm.
Make sure butter used is cold and cut into cubes.
Add all the dry ingredients together.
Add the wet ingredients including the cooled apples and mix everything till they come together.
Lastly, throw in the chocolate chips.
Mix for another 5 seconds.
Transfer onto a well floured surface and shape scones into 10 equal rounds.
(optional) Brush shaped scones with egg wash and sprinkle some sugar on top.
Pop them into the oven for 20-30 mins.
Cool on them rack and try to not devour everything at one shot!
