Ingredients

    1 lb of ground turkey breast (or 93% lean ground beef)
    1 ˝ lb lean sirloin steak, cubed
    1 onion, chopped
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tsp olive oil
    1 can (28oz) crushed tomatoes
    1 can (10oz) Rotel tomatoes w/ green chiles
    12 oz salsa (your choice of heat)
    1 can fat free refried beans
    1 can kidney beans, drained & rinsed
    2 cups frozen corn
    3 tsp chili powder
    1 tsp dried basil
    ˝ tsp garlic powder
    ˝ cup water
    1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes
    Salt & pepper to taste

Directions

Brown the ground turkey or ground beef in a pan. In the stock pot heat oil, add cubed steak, onions and garlic. Cook until steak browned and onions translucent. (Here is where I salt and pepper). Add ground meat to mixture with the rest of ingredients. Simmer 3 hours.
