Introduction

I made a basic recipe for Kasha and then sauteed some veggies to add to it to make a pilaf. Delicious! I made a basic recipe for Kasha and then sauteed some veggies to add to it to make a pilaf. Delicious!
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    KASHA:
    1.5 cups Kasha
    3 cups boiling water
    2 pinches sea salt

    PILAF:
    1 Tbsp. oil
3 large stalks of celery, chopped
    1 cup grated carrots
    2 tsp. minced garlic
1 can Red Gold petite diced tomatoes with garlic and olive oil
    1 can diced green chiles

Tips

Do NOT add Kasha to cold water or it will get mushy. You can add whatever veggies you would like to make it your own recipe.

Directions

Bring water to a boil. Add Kasha and sea salt slowly. Lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Fluff with fork. In the meantime, add oil to skillet and heat until hot. Add celery, carrots and garlic to skillet and sautee for 2-3 minutes. Drain tomatoes and chiles and add to skillet. Cook on medium high heat until hot - 1-2 minutes. Add kasha and stir. Serve
