Sesame Cabbage Stir-Fry w/ Tempeh

Submitted by: BOKJOY

Introduction

Super easy and quick. Not fancy (I wouldn't serve this to company, probably!), but a great for a quick weeknight meal. Super easy and quick. Not fancy (I wouldn't serve this to company, probably!), but a great for a quick weeknight meal.
Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    2 tbsp sesame oil
    1 package (8 oz) tempeh
    1 package (15 oz) cabbage/carrot slaw mix
    1.5 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
1 tbsp Sriracha hot chile sauce (less or more to taste--spicy!)

Tips

If you omit the tempeh, this works great as a base for Asian dishes if you're looking for an alternative to rice.

Definitely use sesame oil instead of another type--it is what provides a lot of the flavor for this dish. If you're not familiar with it, it is delicious, smells wonderful, and has mostly "good" fats.

Directions

Heat sesame oil in pan or wok. Chop tempeh into small cubes, cook in oil until browned. Add package of slaw mix, stir fry until heated but still a little crunchy. Toss with sesame seeds and sriracha sauce (add whatever amount you prefer to achieve the level of heat you like).

Eat!
