IntroductionMore of a cabbage side dish than sauerkraut. Good also on sandwiches. More of a cabbage side dish than sauerkraut. Good also on sandwiches.
1 large raw Onion
1/2 head red Cabbage (about 5-1/2" dia)
2 cloves Garlic
3 medium slices Bacon
1 tsp Pepper, black
1/4 tsp Sea salt,
1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
1 tbsp Water (59.2 mL)
1/2 tsp Chicken Bouillon (with 4 oz. Water)
Crush garlic cloves
Place in a pan
Cook onion and garlic over low heat (Do Not Brown)
Chop uncooked bacon into small pieces
Add bacon to pan
Saute gently until onions, garlic and bacon are cooked
Thinly slice cabbage
Add cabbage to pan, stir gently
Add salt and pepper
Add vinegar and water, stir
Add prepared Chicken Bouillon
Cook slowly (low heat) in covered pan, 20-25 mins.
Let stand 10-20 mins.
