Sassy Brussel Sprouts

2 cups Brussel sprouts
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp of fresh garlic
2 tbsp of pine nuts or other favorite nut
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp red pepper
1/4 tsp black pepper
Do NOT add red pepper too early. Keep stove on medium to prevent scorching. If you like your Brussel sprouts softer, buy them in a bag and steam in the microwave for a couple of minutes but do NOT overcook! Really any nut will work, it doesn't have to be pine nuts. Slivered almonds are also yummy.
