IntroductionThis is a quick, easy, very tasty, vegan version of sweet and sour meatballs! It can be served as an appetizer or main dish. This is a quick, easy, very tasty, vegan version of sweet and sour meatballs! It can be served as an appetizer or main dish.
1 package of vegan meatballs (I used a 12 oz defrosted package of 365 Everyday Value Meatless Meatballs -- or you can make your own -- about 24 meatballs)
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup distilled white vinegar
2/3 cup water
1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce, or tamari
1 tablespoon ketchup
2 tablespoons cornstarch
You can serve this over rice, potatoes, or anything else you would like.
2. Add vegan meatballs and stir, ensuring meatballs are thoroughly coated and covered as much as possible.
3. Bring ingredients to a boil over a medium-low heat.
4. Reduce heat to low. Stirring continuously and allow mixture to simmer for approximately 15 minutes until sauce has thickened.
5. Remove from heat and serve.
