Ingredients
-
Dry Ingredients
1.5 cups Gluten Free Flour
1.5 teaspoons aluminum free baking powder
1 teaspoon xanthan gum
1 teaspoon dry oregano
1 teaspoon dry basil
0.5 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup warm water
1 package of active dry yeast or 2.5 teaspoons
1 egg
1.5 teaspoons olive oil
0.5 teaspoon vinegar
extra flour for kneading
Tips
Onion, garlic, artichokes, roasted pepper, and black olives are some of our favorite toppings. I put cheese on first, then toppings, then a little more cheese. No toppings are included in the calorie count.
Directions
Preheat the oven to 425.
Combine the flour, baking powder, xanthan gum, and seasonings in a bowl.
In a small bowl, combine sugar, warm water, and yeast. Let set until foamy.
In a small bowl, combine egg, oil, vinegar. Beat. Add yeast mixture when foamy.
Add all together and knead. You will need extra flour for smooth texture.
Oil a 15 inch round or rectangle pan.
Form a large disc by hand. Place it on a glass cutting board. Roll to desired size. Sprinkle the top lightly with corn meal. Flip the dough over onto the oiled pan.
Bake for 10 minutes to set.
Remove and add toppings.
Return to the oven for 20 minutes.
Cut in 12 pieces.
Serving Size: Makes 3 servings.
