Submitted by: KAITMURPHY522

Introduction

We don't like how messy spaghetti noodles are, so we use elbow macaroni. This recipe evolved through a lot of weeks of cooking. We don't like how messy spaghetti noodles are, so we use elbow macaroni. This recipe evolved through a lot of weeks of cooking.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 lb Ground Beef
    1/2 Medium Onion (white)
    3 cloves Garlic
    1/2 Cup Celery (diced)
2 Cups (measured dry) Whole-Wheat Macaroni
    1/2 a can (12oz) of Pasta Sauce
    2 tsp Italian Seasoning
    3 tsp Dried Oregano
1 tsp Basil (dried and crushed leaf)
    1/4 tsp ground Cinnamon
    Black Pepper to taste

Tips

If sauce is too thick, add pasta water by the spoonful to thin it out.

Directions

1. Brown ground beef with celery in large skillet
2. Add onion and garlic to beef, stir. Let onions and garlic cook until onions are semi-translucent.
3. Start cooking the noodles, cook until al-dente
4. Add all seasonings to beef (basil, oregano, cinnamon, pepper, Italian seasoning)
5. Add sauce to beef and simmer until noodles are done.
6. Drain noodles and add to skillet with beef and sauce.
7. Stir thoroughly and top with Parmesan cheese if you want to.
