Breakfast Quinoa-Basic Recipe

Introduction

I have been able to make a variety of breakfast ideas out of this basic sweet but healthy quinoa. After cooking the recipe you will have around 4 servings, each being 1/4 cup. You can add whatever items you like to it or even leave the sweet things out and make simple dinners and lunches. :) I have been able to make a variety of breakfast ideas out of this basic sweet but healthy quinoa. Number of Servings: 5

Ingredients

    2 cups water
    1 cup dry quinoa
    2 tbsp Honey
    2 tbsp flax

    any extra items can vary, ideas are:
    -almond milk vs. water
    1 tbsp almond butter
    1 tbsp chocolate protein powder--low sugar
    flavored agave nectar
    fresh fruit
    strawberry jam
    lemon juice and honey

    breakfast w/ artichokes and peppers
    dinner w/ chicken and vegetables, instead of rice. AND ON AND ON!

Directions

Take a medium sauce pan and gather 2 cups of water. Over a medium/high heat boil the water and add 1 cup dry quinoa. Bring mixture to a boil for around 7 minutes, uncovered. Once boiling bring heat to a low simmer for 15-20 minutes. You will see a ring of germ around the quinoa which should be translucent.

Serving Size: makes 4-5 servings, 1/4 cup each serving.--cooked
