I guess the sponsors keep the site free for us all. Maybe we should just accept that and re-figure how to make the recipe with made from scratch foods. Not hard really. - 3/22/13

I am making this right now, didn't have the white beans though; nor, fresh thyme, but ground Thyme .. my sister thought I should use only half the amount called for since it was ground, do you agree? So, far the mushrooms are pretty tasty!!! - 2/13/13

I always make a big batch of brown rice to keep in the frig and use all week long since it reheats so well. This is a great way to turn that rice into a quick nutritious meal. Frankly, I will pair this with some steamed veggies or a salad and use it as an entree. - 5/11/13

Umm, "one package Uncle Ben's Ready Rice?" What? How much rice is that in the REAL world? So sorry you are not encouraging real cooking. Preparing real brown rice takes NO more effort. Put it on for 45 minutes and forget about it. Canned beans? What is this? C'mom SparkPeople! - 2/20/13

In the past couple of weeks there have been more "recipes" featuring packaged products full of chemicals and preservatives than there have been actual recipes--so why doesn't Spark People call them something else like Ad Sponsored Dishes--kinda sad--glad I have all the old recipes. - 2/20/13

Seems that rice pilaf has appeared again. Last time was a few days ago. There is a knack to making interesting meals from partially prepared foods, like the rice here, and cans of vegetables, soups, and meats. Is that where we're heading here? - 2/20/13
