Slow Cooker Roast Chicken

Ingredients



    Whole Roasting Chicken (20 4-oz servings), 80 oz (remove)
    Paprika, 2 tsp (remove)
    Salt, 1 tsp (remove)
    *Onion powder, 1 tsp (remove)
    Thyme, ground, 1 tsp (remove)
    Garlic powder, 0.5 tsp (remove)
    Pepper, red or cayenne, 0.25 tsp (remove)
    Pepper, black, 0.25 tsp (remove)
    Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped (remove)

Directions

1. Combine the dried spices in a small bowl.
2. Loosely chop the onion and place in the bottom of the slow cooker.
3. Remove the giblets from the chicken and then rub the spice mixture all over. You can even put some of the spices inside the cavity and under the skin covering the breast.
4. Put prepared chicken on top of the onions in the slower cooker, cover and turn on to high. No need to add any liquid.
5. Cook for 4-5 hours or until the chicken falls off the bone. Leftover bones can be used to make homemade chicken stock.
