Number of Servings: 72


    1 cup sugar
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 cup Crisco
    2 eggs
    2 cups white all-purpose flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 cups quick oats
    1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz.)
    1 tsp vanilla extract


Heat oven to 375. Beat white sugar, brown sugar, and shortening in large mixing bowl on high speed.
Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Combine flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder and stir into
sugar-egg mixture. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an
ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes.

Yield: About 6 dozen
