2 frozen prepared pie crusts (or double crust pastry from scratch)
7 cups apples, peeled, cored and sliced thinly
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar or sweetener
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Core, peel and thinly slice apples, add lemon juice and toss to coat.
In a separate bowl, combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to apples and toss to coat.
Add apples to one frozen crust and place the other on top, cutting vents in the top to allow steam to escape.
Bake pie for 15 mintues, then lower heat to 350F and continue to bake for 40-45 minutes.
Serving Size: I generally cut this pie into 8
