Ingredients
-
1 1/2 cups flour (I use a mix of all-purpose white and whole wheat)
2 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup granulated Splenda
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
1 egg
1/2 cup butter, melted (to reduce calories I use half butter and half light spread suitable for baking)
1/3 cup skim milk
Tips
Directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray a large baking sheet, or even better, use a silicone baking mat on the sheet.
Mix dry ingredients in large bowl and make a well in the center. In a small bowl, beat egg until frothy, then stir in milk & melted butter. Pour the egg mixture into the well and mix. Divide dough in half. On baking sheet, pat each half into a circle about 9 inches in diameter. Score wedges on each circle and bake for 15 minutes.
Serving Size: Makes 16 scones.
Number of Servings: 16
