Fantastic Fried Steak

Introduction

Alternative, gluten free, fried steak. Yummy crispy crust for a good meal.
Serve with your favourite comfort sides: mashed potatoes and green beans or peas!

Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2-3 eggs beaten
    1/4 c Gluten Free Flour of your choice
    1/2 c gluten-free bread crumbs or Panko
    1/4 T Mixed or Italian mixed herbs
    8 (4 oz) pieces of cube steak
    2-4 T Olive oil

Tips

I made my own bread crumbs from gluten free bread. Check your Panko to see if it is gluten free or make your own with the GF bread of your choice.

I used a GF bread-mix flour I had. original recipe had soy flour. But you can use the flour of your choice.


Directions

1. place eggs, flour and crumbs into 3 separate bowls or deep plates. Stir in the seasoning into the flour. Dredge each piece of steak in the flour; dip into the beaten eggs and dredge in the crumbs/panko.
2. Heat the oil in the pan over medium-high heat. Fry the steak in batches (do not over crowd the pan) for 4-6 minutes each side, depending on the thickness of your steak or until golden brown. add more oil if necessary.

Serving Size: Makes 8, 4oz steaks
