Lower Fat Chicken Bacon Calzones

Introduction

Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    two balls of uncooked pizza dough
    6 slices of turkey bacon cooked & crumbled
    4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, grilled & chopped
    2 cups of grated low fat mozarella cheese
    2 tablespoons of low-fat ceasar salad dressing
    2 tablespoons of melted butter
    3 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Tips

For a healthier choice, whole wheat pizza dough could be used.


Directions

Stir together: crumbled bacon, cooked/chopped chicken breasts, ceasar dressing, 2 tablespoons of the parmesan cheese, onion powder and pepper.

Roll out & cut dough to form 8 ovals. Scoop 1/8 of the mixture onto one side of the oval. Sprinkle 1/4 cup mozarella cheese over mixture. Fold dough over and seal tightly. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, brush lightly with melted butter & sprinkle a dash of parmesan on top. Bake for 5 or 10 more minutes until browned.

Serving Size: Makes 8 individual calzones
