Cranberry Buttermilk Scones

Directions

In a bowl, combine the flour, 1/3 c. sugar (or Splenda), baking powder, salt, orange peel and baking soda; cut in cold butter. Stir in the buttermilk just until combined. Fold in the cranberries.

Turn onto a floured surface; divide the dough in half. Shape each portion into a ball and pat into a 6 or 7-inch circle. Place the two circles on a lightly greased baking sheet. Cut (but not completely through) each circle into 6 to 8 wedges. Brush with milk. Combine the cinnamon and 2 T sugar. Sprinkle over scones.

Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
