Introduction
A healthy way to add filling power and deliciousness to bread! A healthy way to add filling power and deliciousness to bread!Number of Servings: 3
Ingredients
-
6 slices Sara Lee 100% whole wheat, 45 cal
3 eggs
1/2 cup skim milk (maybe a little less)
1T Cinnamon
1T Vanilla extract
3 Splenda packets, or sugar equivalent
Tips
I like making a batch of this as french toast for brunch on the weekends, then freezing the extra. Then during the week, just pop it in the toaster for wonderful cinnamon toast! Also makes a good sandwich, especially a PB&J for kids!
Directions
Mix all ingredients in a shallow bowl
Spray a frying pan or electric griddle with non-stick spray
Heat to med/low
Dip each bread slice in batter, covering both sides but not making them too soggy
Place bread in pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side
Top with the traditional butter and syrup for french toast, or go with natural applesauce, peanut butter, or fresh fruit for a healthier option!
Leftovers go great in a toaster, make a microwave egg muffin next day, or quick breakfast on the go.
