Hoisin Tofu from "Japanese Women don't get fat or old"

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 block of tofu
    3 t of olive oil
    1/3 c. hoisin sauce
    1 T soy sauce
    1 T rice wine
    1 t of garlic powder
    1/2 t pepper
    1/2 cup dashi broth
    1 t sesame
    2 scallions

Tips

The original recipe calls for 5 T of oil, but you don't need that much.


Directions

Drain and press tofu, slice into 1/2 " thick slices
Brush skillet with 2 t oil. Fry tofu on both sides.
Combine hoisin, soy, rice wine, garlic, pepper and 1 t oil. Stir in dashi, pour over tofu. Cook until sauce reduces, garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.

Serving Size: Makes 4 servings
