JD's Easy Slow Cooker Chili

Introduction

Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    1.25 lbs ground turkey
    2 T olive oil
    1 large onion, chopped
    3 cans (15oz) diced tomatoes (fire roasted), do not drain
    1 can (15oz) black beans, drain and rinsed
    1 can (15 oz) white kidney beans, drain and rinse
    1 can (15 oz) red kidney beans, drain and rinse
    2 cans (4 oz) diced chiles (mild)
    2 T chili powder
    1.5 t garlic powder
    1.5 t cumin
    1 t black pepper

    If you like it spicy, add ground red pepper to taste

Tips

Prepare all ingredients the night before, refrigerate in slow cooker crock insert. Remove in the morning and allow to cook on low for 8 hours. Freezes well.


Directions

In large frying pan over medium heat, add olive oil, then onions and ground turkey. Cook until turkey is browned and no pink remains. Transfer to slow cooker.
Add remaining ingredients to slow cooker.
Stir, cover, and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.

Serving Size: makes 10 servings
