Ingredients

    2 Cups Lentils
    4 Cups Water
    3 Plum Tomato's
    1 Teaspoon Salt
    Ginger Grated to Taste
    4 Green Chilies
    1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric
    1/2 Teaspoon Red Chilli
    1/4 Teaspoon Garam Masala
    3/4 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
    2 Pinches Asafetida
    2 Tablespoons Ghee
    1 Table Spoon Lemon Juice

Directions

In a pressure cooker add washed lentails, water, diced tomato's, green chilies, salt and turmeric. Close the lid and heat on medium flame till the cooker whistles twice. Remove from flame and keep aside to release all the pressure. In a separate pan, heat ghee and asafetidam cumin seeds, ginger and red chilli powder. When cooked, add this to the lentils in the cooker. Add garam masals and lemon juice. Serve hot over rice.
