Ingredients

    1 teaspoon Montreal Steak Seasoning
    Fresh ground black pepper
Onion Powder - several shakes into bottom of fry pan
Garlic Granuales or powder - several shakes into bottom of teflon fry pan

    2 Portabella Mushrooms

4 slices of swiss cheese (Tillamook) my favorite

Directions

2 Portabella Mushrooms
1 teaspoon Montreal Seasoning - Shake into the bottom of a large teflon frying pan w cover
Grind fresh black pepper into bottom of fry pan
shake in some onion powder to bottom of fry pan
shake in some garlic granules or powder into fry pan

Now place in the washed, stemmed porabella mushrooms- 2 mushrooms stems removed but washed and sliced into the pan. If you have more people just add more mushrooms...
Add a little water, less than a half cup
Place on med high heat and cook with lid on turning over every few minutes. When cooked through you will have a rich brown mushroom juice and Mushrooms will be saturated with the seasoning from turning them over and over in that juice. Place two slices of swiss cheese on each Mushroom with the webbed side up. Put lid on for two minutes and when cheese melts it is ready to serve.
Note: I microwaved a large baking potato, while cooking mushrooms. 6 minutes on one side/ 2 min on the other side. Then I sliced it in half the long way. put the mushroom gravy (juice) on the potato w 1 tblsp of sour cream. It made a terrific lunch and Randy wants me to cook it again... and more often. He is a big eater... but said this satisfied.

The Montreal Steak seasoning made the Portabellas taste like will taste a tender steak after turning over and over in the juice while cooking. They made their own natural juice.

Serving Size: each mushroom is one serving
