Chop Suey

Introduction

Pasta and vegetable main dish. Pasta and vegetable main dish.
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    2 Cups Chopped Onion
    3 Cups Sliced Celery
    1/2 pound Sliced Mushrooms
    1 Pound 93% lean Ground Beef
    1 pound Whole Wheat Pasta
    29 OZ. Can Tomato Sauce
    1 TBSP Oregano Leaves
    1 1/2 TBSP Basil Leaves

Tips

Canned spagetti sauce can be used in place of tomato sauce, oregano, and basil. Salt and pepper to taste. Top with parmesian cheese if desired. (not included in calorie count.)


Directions

Put pot of water on to cook pasta according to package directions. Drain when done. Brown ground meat, drain and set aside. Heat oil in pan and add onions. Cook until starting to brown. Add celery and mushrooms, cover and simmer about 10 minutes. Add tomsto sauce, oregano, basil and ground beef. Stir to mix and simmer 10 minutes. Add drained pasta, stir to combine, and simmer for 10 minutes.
