I have a similar recipe that is from Weight Watchers. 1 box of spice cake mix, 1 can of pumpkin, 1/2 cup applesauce and 1 bag of cinnamon chips, mix all together and it makes 24 muffins. 350 degree oven for 24 minutes. Very very moist and is only 1 point. - 4/14/09

I could taste the pumpkin. My grocery store didn't have a devil's food cake mix, maybe that's more chocalate-y than the one I used but for myself I would add an ounce of baker's chocolate next time and see if that tastes better to me. - 4/13/09

I made these yesterday and they are FABULOUS! Very moist and chocolatey. DEFINITELY a keeper! I made them as mini-muffins for even better portion control, and they are soooooo good! - 12/30/07

These are really surprising! They do taste like little chocolate cupcakes and you can barely taste the pumpkin. They'll be great for a quick, low-cal chocolate fix. And they really could not be any simpler to make. - 4/14/07

When I was given the recipe it was for 1/2 tin pumpkin, 1/2 cup water and chocolate cake mix. Sooo delicious, I have used the spice mix also and a friend used the carrot cake mix and said her family enjoyed them so much. I make the mini muffins and this recipe makes about 36. - 4/13/10

I made this for Easter as it is also egg free and have an allergic granddgt. They smelled wonderful but did not have a lot of flavor we didn't think. No one would eat them. Maybe will try spice cake mix.

I made these with a white cake mix to which I added .5 c cocoa. I must have made mine smaller, because I ended up with 25, which makes them about 101 calories (according to my food program.) They were good. Would probably be better with actual chocolate cake for a more pronounce chocolate flavor. - 6/17/07

This is one of my favorite recipe! To people wondering, you use just the dry mix and pumpkin, adding a little applesauce, flavorings, and/or nuts are all great variations! - 4/13/10

I made these with a lot of little helpers and they loved them. My favorite part was that I didn't have to worry about them licking some of the raw dough because no raw eggs like normal cupcakes! - 7/23/09

This is awesome and it works with any cake mix, cookie mix, or brownie mix. If you make cupcakes, you can put some nuts in the bottom of the muffin paper and put the cake mix on top so there is an extra treat. You can do this with canned fruit or candy (but its not heathy that way!). - 4/13/09

I brought these to an office brunch --- they were really moist and had a lot of chocolate flavor. I did mini muffins so that they went farther --- next time I'm trying it with a spice cake mix.... or carrot cake mix? or??? - 5/4/07
