Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

3 Cups of Sifted Self Rising Flour
5 Tablespoons of Butter Flavored Crisco
    2 Cups of Low-Fat Buttermilk
    Pam (for baking) cooking spray
5 Tablespoons of I can't believe it's not butter (melted)

Tips

Instead of using Pam, you can also place a large piece of parchment paper on the baking sheet.

Directions

Measure 3 cups of self-rising flour by spooning in flour into a measuring cup. Once you have measured 3 cups of flour, dump it into a sifter. Sift the flour into a medium size bowl. Set the over to 450 degrees. Add 5 tablespoons of butter flavored Crisco into the sifted flour. You can also use the original Crisco brand. Flour your hands and break up the pieces of Crisco until there are no lumps bigger than the size of a dime.

Next place two large pieces of Wax Paper on the counter and add 2-3 cups of self rising flour in the middle.

Add the 2 cups of buttermilk into the bowl and using one hand, mix the batter. The dough will be wet. Once well mixed, wash your hands and dry well. Pour the batter in the middle of the flour on the wax paper. Wash your hands and dry them well and then flour up your hands well. Sprinkle flour on top of the wet mixture and start folding the edges inward. Keep doing this until the dough becomes harder 2-3 minutes. Pick up the dough and gather the remaining flour to the middle of the wax paper and place the dough on top of it. With your hands, press down on the batter from the inside out to form a circle. When 3/4" think flour your biscuit cutter and begin cutting out biscuits. Spray a baking sheet with Pam for baking and place cut biscuits on the cookie sheet.

Once you cut out the biscuits, take the left over dough to form another circle and cut until there is not enough dough left to make another biscuit.

Bake in oven at 450 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Melt 5 tablespoons of I can't believe it's not butter in a microwave safe bowl. When the biscuits are ready, brush the butter on top of each biscuit.... Enjoy!
