Ingredients

    1/2 gallon 1% milk
    3 ounces of 0% Fage plain yogurt

Tips

i add fruit/honey for taste after yogurt is set.


Directions

1. Turn crockpot on low to heat.
2. Take out live culture plain yogurt to warm up.
3. Add quart of milk to pot and heat on medium high until 185 degrees.
4. Place 3 ounces of live culture plan yogurt in a 2 cup measuring cup.
5. Mix 1 cup of scalded milk with the yogurt.
6. Place pot of scalded milk with lid on in kitchen sink and fill sink with cold water to cool off milk. Should take @ 5-7 minutes. Milk should be @ 100 degrees. Can dip in your finger and it should feel warm/not hot.
7. turn off crock pot.
8. Place cooled milk and yogurt/milk mixture in crock pot.
9. remove crock from crockpot apparatus. remove lid as well.
10. wrap crock (with milk mixture) in large towel.
11. let sit undisturbed for 8 hours.
12. chill in regrigerator over night. make certain you do not disturb or mix yogurt up.
13. for thicket yogurt, after chilled, strain with a cheese cloth.

Serving Size: 7 5 1/2-ounce servings. I weigh them on a scale
