(Vegan) Orange Chicken

Introduction

Ingredients

    1 cup dry chicken style TVP chunks
    3 tsp Sriracha sauce
    1 tbsp rice vinegar
    *4 tbsp honey*
    1 tsp Bragg liquid aminos
    1/4 tsp Spike seasoning
    1/4 cup orange juice
    1/2 cup water
    1/2 tsp sesame oil
    1 tbsp nutritional yeast

    *spices to taste (I used black pepper and garlic powder)

    *some vegans eat honey, some less strict vegans do not. You can substitute brown sugar for honey- it will be fewer calories too.

Directions

In a microwave safe bowl, mix TVP, seasoning and spices, liquid aminos, and sriracha sauce. Microwave for one minute, stir, and microwave an additional minute.

Stir in orange juice and vinegar, microwave one minute.

Stir in honey and oil, let sit for about 5 minutes.

Empty mixture into sauce pan, sprinkle in nutritional yeast, stir continuously until liquid is mostly cooked up.

Serve hot with white or fried rice.

Serving Size: Makes 2 1/2 cup servings
