Milk jellies

Submitted by: LESLEY210

Introduction

Almost nothing but skim milk in them. Almost nothing but skim milk in them.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

Evaporated milk non fat 1 can
Skim milk, to make evaporated milk up to 2 cups
    Skim Milk 1 cup
    Sweetzfree 18 drops
*Rose Water, 1 tbsp or other flavouring
Water 1 cup (8 fl oz)
*Gelatine unflavored, 0.5 cup (2 packets)
    Food colouring, few drops (optional)

Flavourings can be 1 tbsp rosewater, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp almond essence, 1tbsp matcha powder (make a paste with a little of the milk first) or cocoa (make a paste) or whatever. You can replace the water with double-strength coffee.

Tips

If you can't find Sweetzfree, use Splenda granular 3/4 cup or any other heat-stable sweetener.

Directions

In measuring jug add gelatine to 1 cup milk and leave to soften while you do the rest. In larger measuring jug add evaporated milk plus skim milk to 2 cups. Add flavouring, Sweetzfree and colour and mix. In large saucepan bring 1 cup water to the boil. If you are using vanilla, add it to the cold water first to get rid of the alcohol taste. Lower heat, add gelatine mix and milk mix and stir until it's warmed through and the gelatine has melted. Pour into 1/2 cup ramekins or similar and allow to cool. When cool, put the lids on and keep in fridge.

Serving Size: Makes 8 servings, 1/2 cup
