Introduction

Ingredients

    Red kidney beans, canned, 240 gram(s), drained weight
    Pinto beans, canned, 240 gram(s), drained weight
    Hovis Wholemeal Medium Sliced Bread (UK), 2 slice
    Onions, raw, 1 cup, finely chopped
    Red kidney beans, canned, 240 gram(s), drained weight
    Tomato puree, 1 tbsp
    Egg, fresh, 1 large
    Pepper, black, 0.5 tsp
    Salt, 1 tsp
    Basil, 1 tsp
    Oregano, 1 tsp
    Garlic powder, 1 tsp
    Chilli powder, 1 tsp

Tips

Adjust seasonings according to taste.

Serve with oven baked sweet potato wedges and a mixed salad.


Directions

Blitz the bread in a food processor to make fine breadcrumbs and put into a large bowl.
Then blitz the beans for 15-20 seconds so they are still quite chunky.
Add to the bowl with the rest of the ingredients and combine well using hands.
Allow to rest in the fridge for 30 mins then form into 8 equal sized patties.
Fry in a non-stick skillet without oil or cook under a grill or on a BBQ.



Serving Size: 8 patties approx 125g each
