Ingredients

*Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 2 tbsp
Onions, raw, 2 medium (2-1/2" dia)
    Mushrooms, fresh, 2 cup, slices
*Peppers, sweet, red, fresh, .5 cup, sliced
    Granulated Sugar, .25 cup
    Beef, round steak, 1 lb
Annie's Naturals Organic Worcestershire Sauce, 4 tbsp
Kraft Barbecue Sauce Original, 2 tbsp
    Bread, rye, 12 slice
*compliments part skim mozza cheese, 1 cup

Tips

Green peppers taste great in this, I substitute reds because greens don't do well with me. I added about 4 cloves of garlic too! Love garlic! Enjoy!

Directions

1. Heat the Olive Oil in a large skillet over medium heat
2. Add onions, sliced in thin rings, cook for 2 minutes
3. Add sliced mushrooms, cook for 4 minutes with a lid on the skillet if you have one
4. Add red pepper in long slices, cook for a few more minutes until everything gets a bit soft
5. Add sugar and stir to caramelize
6. Remove the onion mix from heat
7. Cook beef in the same juices from the onion mix
8. Add Worcestershire and bbq sauce, cook until desired tenderness
9. Layer meat, onions and grated cheese between 2 pieces of rye bread.
10. Wrap each sandwich in foil
11. Bake at 400 degrees (f) for 10 minutes, flip them over and bake for another 5 minutes.
