Healthy Italian Sausage

Introduction

Ingredients

    1-1/2 pounds ground turkey breast
    1/4 tsp salt
    1-3/4 tsp paprika
    1/4 tsp black pepper

    1 clove garlic
    3/4 tsp fennel seed
    3/4 tsp red pepper flakes
    pinch cayenne pepper
    1 Tbsp plus 1 tsp olive oil
    fresh basil chopped (if desired) 1 tsp

Tips

I like to make one patty and taste it - you can add more heat or fennel if you like strong flavor/more heat!

Great cooked and crumbled on home made pizza or try making appetizer meatballs and serve with a healthy marinara for dipping.


Directions

Put meat in a large bowl and work in the salt, paprika Mix the remaining ingredients in a food processor and then work it into the meat. You can refrigerate this up to 24 hours prior to cooking. Patty it up and cook on the stove top over medium heat. Cooking time is based on thin patties. (appx 10)
