Fancy Rice Pilaf w/Almonds

Introduction

Props to FoodDownUnder for this tasty side dish Props to FoodDownUnder for this tasty side dish
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    * 1 c Brown Rice
    * 1/2 c Raisins (or currants)
    * 2 tbsp Dehydrated Chopped Onions
    * 1 tbsp Margarine
    * 2 c (16 oz) Chicken Broth
    * 1/2 c Slivered Toasted Almonds

Directions

* Put rice, raisins, onion, margarine and broth into 2 or 3 quart sauce pan.
* Bring to boil and stir a few times
* Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 45 to 50 minutes (until rice is tender and liquid has been absorbed)
* Remove from heat
* Add almonds, season w/salt and pepper to taste
