Low Salt Chili ala Jess

Introduction

Simple chili, but a tasty low-salt version Simple chili, but a tasty low-salt version
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1/2 lb ground beef
    1/2 large onion
    2 cloves garlic
    1tsp cumin
    1tsp chili powder
    1/2 tsp thyme
    1/4 tsp mustard seed, crushed
    1/4 tsp coriander seed, crushed
    4 cups prepared black beans (or 32oz of canned beans)
    2 cans no salt added diced tomatoes

Directions

Brown lean ground beef in large pot with garlic, onions, and spices. Add beans and heat to simmering. Add tomatoes and bring to a boil.

Note: if canned beans are used, salt content increases. Prepared black beans recipe is in my recipe box. Salt content can be further reduced by reducing the amount of boullion used in the prepared beans.

Makes approximately 8 one cup servings.
