Mrs. Quast's Orange Jello

Introduction

My mother got this recipe from our neighbor, Mrs. Quast, in the 60's....it was a holiday recipe for us. My mother got this recipe from our neighbor, Mrs. Quast, in the 60's....it was a holiday recipe for us.
Number of Servings: 9

Ingredients

    2 (3 oz.) boxes orange Jello
    2 (11 oz.) cans mandarin oranges
    1 pint orange sherbet

Tips

Adjust the amount of liquid if you need to.


Directions

Melt the sherbet, put it aside. Drain the cans of mandarin oranges and save the liquid. Put the oranges aside. Add water to the juice to make 1 1/2 cups. Bring the water/juice mixture to a rolling boil. Put the jello in a large bowl. Very carefully pour the boiling water over the jello....don't splash. Stir the mixture until all the jello is dissolved being careful not to make foam. Slowly add the sherbet. Mix until blended. Add the oranges. Refrigerate.

Serving Size: 9 .5 cup servings
