Introduction

This is my favorite turkey burger recipe.. I have them at least once a week.

NOTE: the veggies and mustard ARE included in the calorie count.

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    Burger Ingredients:
    -----------
    1 lb 99% Fat-Free Ground Turkey Breast
    1 tsp Garlic powder
    1 tsp Onion powder
    1 tsp Curry Powder
    1 tsp Paprika (for color)
    1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
    1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
    1/2 tsp each Salt and ground black pepper
    1 Large Egg
    1 tsp Worchestershire sauce
    1 TBSP Anchovy Paste
    1/2 Cup Ancient Grains Quinoa Flakes (or rolled oats)

    Toppings/"Bun"
    ------------
    12 bibb or romaine lettuce leaves
    1 small red onion, sliced
    1 ripe avocado, sliced
    1 medium tomato, sliced
    Dijon mustard

Tips

Don't skip the anchovy paste!! It adds a delicious depth of flavor and no one will know but you.


Directions

Mix the burger ingredients well. Form into 6 patties and cook in a pan with vegetable oil spray until no longer pink in the middle.

Instead of a bun, use Bibb or Romaine lettuce leaves.
Top with mustard, red onion, tomato, and avocado slices.

I like to serve them with oven-baked sweet potato fries!
