Ingredients

    1/2 cup milk
    1.5 cups water
    1 Tbsp butter
    0.5 cup steel cut oats
    1 large granny smith apple
    3 Tbsp brown sugar
    1 Tbsp cinnamon

Tips

Brown sugar can be adjusted to your preference for sweetness


Directions

Shred apple and add to pot with milk and water; bring to a boil. While water/milk/apple mixture is heating, toast the oats over medium heat in skillet with butter. Add oats to boiling mixture, lower heat and simmer, uncovered 25 minutes. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon, continue to simmer another 10 minutes. Serve
