Simple Slow Cooker Ranch Chicken

Introduction

I have read enough of recipes to make this on my own from memory. My whole family liked it. I served it with mashed potatoes - there was plenty of gravy. Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
    1 packet of dry ranch dressing
    3/4 C water
    2 tbsp Flour
    2 tbsp butter
    1 C skim milk

Tips

Can replace the flour, butter, milk mixture with a can of creamed soup of choice. Can also experiment with other dressing packets, such as Italian. Would be very good over brown rice.


Directions

Place chicken in slow cooker. Mix water and ranch dressing together and pour over chicken. Cook on low for 6.5 - 8 hours.
30 minutes before serving: Melt the butter in a small sauce pan over low heat, whisk in the flour and continue whisking until smooth and bubbly. Whisk in the skim milk. Continues to whisk until the mixture bubbles and becomes thick.
Remove the chicken from slow cooker, leave the liquid. Whisk in the cream mixture into the slow cooker. Taste before adding any salt and pepper. Return chicken to slow cooker and put on high for 20-30 minutes to warm up.


Serving Size: Makes 6 1/2 breast servings.
