Low carb pie crust

Ingredients

    1 cup almond flour
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    4 TBS unsalted butter, melted
    3/4 cup cold buttermilk (or 3/4 cup milk with
    1 TBS lemon juice added)
    1 tsp salt
    1 TBS canola oil

Tips

If you follow the directions, this makes a fairly flaky crust.
If you can subtract the carbs in whole wheat flour you come out with 13 g carbs for 1/6 of pie crust.
You can use ground walnuts rather than almond flour


Directions

Note: the directions for adding ingredients must be followed exactly.
whisk flours together with salt in a bowl.
pour melted butter into buttermilk and stir until small lumps form. Add canola oil to buttermilk/butter mix
pour buttermilk mixture into flours and stir until a dough forms
Refrigerate for 20 min.
divide dough in half and roll out a pie crust from each half between two sheets of plastic wrap.
Use to make a 9in 2 crust pie
bake filled pie 40 minutes - watch that crust doesn't burn. Cover edges with foil.
Don't forget to add the carbs in the filling to the total for a piece of pie
