Submitted by: REVCORNIE

Introduction

Mama loved her sugar, but we are kicking this habit! This is her 1950's classic remade with Splenda. Worth licking the spoon afterwards!! Mama loved her sugar, but we are kicking this habit! This is her 1950's classic remade with Splenda. Worth licking the spoon afterwards!!
Number of Servings: 48

Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt one stick unsealed butter. Add 3 Tbs dark cocoa, 1 tsp vanilla, and 6 Tbs half and half. Then add 1 C Splenda. Do not boil. Add 1/2 C chopped nuts. Ice cake while it is still warm and in the pan.

Wait till icing sets up to cut cake into squares or take to party and cut it on site. You won't be bringing this sweet thang home!

Tips

You can make this with confectioner's sugar (powdered), but your calories and carbs go out the roof! The replacement is 16 oz powdered sugar for the 1 C Splenda. You don't need to do this to your body!

Directions

This is the icing for Mom's Chocolate Cookie Sheet, also found in Cornie's Kitchen. Cook on top of stove in medium saucepan, over medium heat, making sure it doesn't boil.

Serving Size: Makes 48 1 1/2 inch pieces OR 72 1 inch square pieces
