Turkey Meatloaf

Submitted by: CHRISKENANDKIDS

Introduction

I took my family meatloaf recipe and lightened it up by using ground turkey, almond milk and egg whites to substitute for the beef, milk and egg. I took my family meatloaf recipe and lightened it up by using ground turkey, almond milk and egg whites to substitute for the beef, milk and egg.

Ingredients

36 oz. Ground Turkey (I used Jennie-O Lean)
3 tbsp. egg beaters egg whites
1/3 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
    1/2 cup Heinz Ketchup
    6 tbsp. frozen chopped onion
    1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper

Tips

You can add veggies or use other meat to mix it up if you'd like. If I use beef, I need to drain off the grease and after I turn it out onto a platter, I mop up the extra grease with a paper towel.

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. In a large bowl, mix the egg whites, milk and bread crumbs together to form a paste. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix together with your hands. You can use latex gloves if you don't want to use your bare hands. Put mixture into greased loaf pan and bake at 350 for one hour.
