Introduction

Number of Servings: 48

Ingredients

    2 tsp shortening
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 1/4 cup sugar
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 cup sour cream
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    1 cup milk
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tsp vanilla
    3 1/2 cups flour

Directions

Add just enough flour to bring to rolling consistency (dough will still be a little sticky).
Roll to about " thickness and cut into strips - a pizza cutter works really well.
Shape into figure 8 or pretzel shape and bake until light brown in a 375F oven, approx 8-10 minutes.
Cool between layers of towel (like done with lefse) to keep the bread moist.
Store in air tight container for use within a few days or freeze.
