Cream Cheese and Jam French Toast

Introduction

A healthier version of french toast that is just as satisfying as the original. A healthier version of french toast that is just as satisfying as the original.
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    2 slices low calorie whole wheat bread (I use weight watchers)
    1 tbsp spreadable light cream cheese
    1 tbsp sugar free jam
    1/4 cup egg whites (2 egg whites)
    3 tbsp nonfat milk
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    cinnamon (optional)

Directions

Spread bread with cream cheese and jam and make into a sandwich. Combine egg, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a pie plate or plate with edges. Dip bread in egg mixture to coat both sides, if I have a bit left on the plate I pour it over top of the bread once it is in the pan. Place bread in a skillet preheated over medium, cook until golden brown on both sides.
