Ground Turkey Meatballs

Introduction

This is a lighter version of the regular ground beef meatball This is a lighter version of the regular ground beef meatball
Number of Servings: 35

Ingredients

    16 oz ground turkey
    1 egg
    2 pieces whole wheat bread
    55 grams onion
    .5 tsp garlic powder
    1 tsp italian seasoning
    1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Directions

Make the bread into fine breadcrumbs. Chop the onion into small pieces. Combine the ground turkey, the breadcrumbs, the chopped onion, the egg, and the spices and mix. Coat a skillet with 1 tbsp olive oil and heat on medium low to medium heat. Form meatballs using 1 tbsp of mixture per meatball. Cook until browning and done inside the meatballs.

Makes 35 meatballs
1 meatball = 1 serving

    I am using this recipe today, but I will be replacing the bread with oatmeal. It adds fiber to your diet and the oatmeal "plumps" up for tenderness. - 5/14/11

    You make yours the same way I do mine. For italian meatballs, I add garlic/onion/parsley/italian seasonings and then freeze. Good to triple recipe and make different batches. 1) for stroganoff 2) spaghetti 3) meatball soup. GREAT RECIPE! - 4/24/08
