Creamy Corn and Potato Soup

Ingredients

1 small onion, chopped
2 carrots, diced
2 tablespoons butter
3 cans (14 oz. ea.) ready to use chicken broth
4 large potatoes (approx. 4 c.) peeled and diced
3 cans (14 3/4 oz. ea.) cream style corn
2 cups (1 pint) heavy cream
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
Directions
In a soup pot, saute the onion and carrots in the butter over medium heat for 5 to 6 minutes, or until tender.
Add the chicken broth and potatoes. Bring to a boil and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
Add the remaining ingredients, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until heated through. Serve immediately. Makes approx. 14 1-cup servings.
