Submitted by: NANCYANNE1956

Introduction

I got this recipe out of Woman's World mag. It's part of a detox diet they had, but it sounded so good I thought it would be good any time. I got this recipe out of Woman's World mag. It's part of a detox diet they had, but it sounded so good I thought it would be good any time.

Ingredients

    Vegetable Broth
    Chopped Onion
    Garlic Cloves
    Sweet Potatoes
    Celery stalks
    Carrot
    Cabbage, kale or spinach
    Acorn Squash
2 cups of any vegetables, such as zucchini, tomatoes or green beans
    2 bay leaves
    1 tbs chili powder (optional)
    1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
    1/4 tsp ground cloves
    1/2 tsp ground all spice

Directions

Put all ingredients in pot and bring to boil. Simmer until veggies are tender. Strain veggies, reserve broth. Discard bay leaves

Pour 1/4 cub broth in blender or food processor; add a small batch of veggies, filling container no more than 1/3/of the way. Puree a few seconds, then carefully lift lid to let steam escape; continue in this manner until desire consistency is achieved. Divide puree among 7 storage containers, about 1 heaping cup each.

Cover and refrigerate or freeze containers. Reheat as needed, adding more broth, if desired and drizzling each portion with 1-1/2 tbs of olive oil.
