Red Lobster Cheese Bread

Introduction

Love Red Lobster's cheese biscuits but can't imagine how much fat must be in it? Now you can cut it down to nothing! Love Red Lobster's cheese biscuits but can't imagine how much fat must be in it? Now you can cut it down to nothing!
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    2 cups flour
    1 Tablespoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    1/8 teaspoon black pepper
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon parsley
4 ounces cheddar cheese, one cup shredded
1 1/4 cups fat free milk
3/4 cup fat free sour cream
3 Tablespoons of COLD reduced fat butter, cut/crumbled into cubes.

Tips

I did not add reduced fat cheese, but it could be done to lower the overall fat also. You could also do this in muffin tins, just reduce the cook time.

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9×5 loaf pan with spray. In a bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. Carefully stir in cheese and cubed butter until covered in flour mixture. This will help keep your cheese from sinking to the bottom of your loaf of bread.

In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients. Fold the wet mixture into the dry until just combined. Don't over stir. Pour into the loaf pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. IMPORTANT!!! Cool for one hour before slicing and serving, otherwise it will crumble.

Serving Size: Makes 12 slices, or 12 muffins
