Guiness Beef

Introduction

Number of Servings: 5

Ingredients

    25 oz. London Broil (or other thick cut lean beef)
    3 tbsp Olive oil
    2 tbsp flour
    salt and pepper (5 dashes each or to taste)
    Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
    1-1/2 Lg. Onions coarsley chopped
    5 Cloves Garlic; chopped or crushed
    2 Tbsp Ketchup
    4 Tbsp Water
    1-1/4 cups Guiness or other Beer


Directions

Trim fat from beef and cut into 2"cubes. Toss in 1 tbsp. oil. Mix flour w/salt/peppers. Toss meat in Flour. Heat 2 tbsp oil in large skillet over med-high. Brown meat on all sides. Reduce, add 1/2 the onion, all the garlic. Add ketchup diluted with the water first. Cover/cook 5 minutes. Add the beer; mix well then continue cooking on stove, or transfer to crockpot to finish cooking. Add remaining onion after 2-3 hours cooking. Cook between 6-8 hours to desired tenderness. Add peas/carrots if desired. Serve over Egg Noodles.
Makes 5 - 5 ounce servings and sauce.
